About Macaroni Kid Kutztown to Allentown Edition

Hi!
Welcome to Kutztown-to-Allentown Macaronikid! I have been publishing Kutztown-to-Allentown since July 2009 and it has been a blast! I love writing and experiencing new things so it is perfect.
I have two children. A daughter, Hunter-Willow, who wants to be a star of the stage, she loves to sing and act. She also loves soccer and swim team. Hunter-Willow has written as a kid contributor for Macaronikid and has enjoyed being published. My son, Griffin, is all about trains! He's got curly blong, surfer hair and big blue eyes. He's going to be trouble as a teenager, I'm certain.
Being a mom is something I never thought I would want to be until I really wanted to be a mom and within a two short months I was pregnant. We thought she would be out only, but when she turned seven, I realized that I missed 3-year-old and we decided to try again. The going was not quite as easy the second time, but right before Hunter-Willow's 8th birthday she got the brother that she asked Santa for when she was 4. Their relationship couldn't be more amazing!
Since being a mother, I've discovered that I'm actually quite good at it. That is certainly not to say that I don't make mistakes, but I've discovered a patience and willingness to give of myself that I never knew I had.
Before kids, I was on a path toward getting my degree in biology with a plan to go on to train dolphins and live in the carribean. Needless to say, those plans changed when I became pregnant. I graduated with a psychology degree with a focus on behavior and development. After more than 10 years in the working world, I have returned to academics to complete my master's in counseling.
Publishing Macaronikid for Kutztown-to-Allentown and covering Northern Berks, Lehigh and the surrounding area has been such a rewarding experience. It is my hope that Macaronikid continues to grow in my area as well as across the nation so that we can become a leading resource for parents to read about everything kid-friend and family fun!
We're always looking for new and interesting family fun events. Are we missing something? If you know of a family or kid event in the area and Macaroni Kid doesn't have it listed, simply submit your event here.

About Macaroni Kid
Macaroni Kid and its family of Publisher Moms are dedicated to delivering the scoop on all the family-friendly events and activities happening in their communities each week. Check out Macaroni Kid’s list of communities and sign up to receive your free weekly newsletter.
It all started with two old friends sharing a good meal and a great bottle of wine. From that conversation, Macaroni Kid was born and Joyce and Nicki started publishing a weekly newsletter giving moms and dads the scoop on all the weekly events in their community. From there it’s grown to dozens of other communities across the Country.
We hope you enjoy it.
