Gerber Cereals: A Macaroni Kid Review

By Mary Shoemaker August 27, 2015
For years (and years and years!) Gerber has been a popular choice for a baby's early nutritional needs. As a baby, my mother ate Gerber cereal. She fed it to me when I was an infant, and both of my boys loved it, too. Today, Gerber Cereals are still the ideal first solid food designed to provide the key vitamins and minerals needed during the first years of a baby’s life.

Recently, I was sent samples of 4 Gerber Cereals to review. My box of goodies contained:
Gerber Oatmeal Cereal: Single-grain infant cereal. An ideal first solid food to check for allergies and help develop baby's eating skills.
Gerber Oatmeal & Banana Cereal: Helps baby discover new tastes.
Hearty Bits Banana Apple Strawberry Multigrain Cereal: Spoon-hugging texture encourages toddlers to self-feed.
Lil' Bits Banana Strawberry Oatmeal: Introduce your older baby to new tastes and textures.

My boys are past the baby food stage, but my friend's beautiful baby Hazel was happy to test them all!
Hazel has just started learning to self feed, so she absolutely loved the Hearty Bits Banana Apple Strawberry Multigrain Cereal and the Lil' Bits Banana Strawberry Oatmeal. Her mom prepared it by mixing it with apple juice, and the thicker texture made it easy for Hazel to practice scooping and feeding herself. Hazel loved the taste, and her mom was happy to learn that just 2 servings a day provided 90% of her daily iron need, important for brain development.
After hearing her positive feedback, my mini-Macaroni and I hit the town to spread the word to other moms and hand out Gerber Cereal coupons. We hit the library, the park, the grocery store and every other place we could find moms and babies. Interested in trying Gerber Cereals with your little one? We still have just a few coupons left! Email us to claim one.
And in the meantime, be sure to check out Gerber online, and enjoy making this delicious Strawberry Banana Smoothie for your little ones using Gerber Cereal!
