About Dolly Haltzman Dance Academy, A Local Studio with 3 Locations

August 25, 2016
The accomplishments of Dolly Haltzman Dance Academy (DHDA) dancers shimmer with joy and pride. Our dancers have landed contracts with professional dance companies, perform in major films and on Broadway, and receive scholarships to colleges and professional company schools.  This past summer our students were accepted for advanced ballet training at numerous nationally acclaimed programs including: the School of American Ballet, Pa Ballet, Gelsey Kirkland Ballet, Interlochen, North Carolina Ballet.  DHDA is very excited that 14 year old Emmaus native, Cainan A. Weber, who received first place in the 2016 Easton International Ballet Competition will be attending the School of American Ballet – the training school for the New York City Ballet, beginning this fall as a scholarship student.

Over 50 years ago, DHDA founder, Dolly Haltzman, opened up a dance studio in the basement of her Allentown home.  Today DHDA has 3 studios in Allentown, Kuhnsville and Emmaus and a professional staff of teaching artists attentive to a child’s creative and emotional growth, as well as to the child’s development of self- esteem. We strive to develop a warm friendly working relationship with each student, thereby encouraging a positive, active response to the arts and to life. Director and instructor, Jennifer Haltzman Tracy, danced professionally with Kansas City Ballet, New Jersey Ballet, Boston Ballet and Los Angeles Ballet.  She was Associate Director of Education for New York City Ballet and was a substitute teacher at the NYCB’s acclaimed School of American Ballet. Ballet Instructor, Trinette Singleton, was a Principal Dancer with the Joffrey Ballet for fifteen years and was the first American female dancer to appear on the cover of Time Magazine. She was Ballet Mistress for the Joffrey Ballet and is on the Board of Directors of the Gerald Arpino and Robert Joffrey Foundation.  Miss Trinette is also on faculty at DeSales University and Joffrey Ballet School in New York and Joffrey Texas Workshop. Ballet, Modern and Yoga Instructor, Lynn Shiff Wiener received her BFA and MA from the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.  Miss Lynn has professionally performed with The Cincinnati Ballet/New Orleans Ballet, Tulsa Ballet Theatre, Repertory Dance Theatre, and Burklyn Ballet Theater Summer Program Series.
