Miss Gail and the Jumpin’ Jam Band: I Just Can’t Sit Here!!! (13 Tracks) – $10/CD
Genres: Poprock, rockabilly and a little jazz
Perfect for: Party Time, Oh Yeah!

This second CD by Miss Gail and the Jumpin’ Jam Band is full of fun songs that get kids up and dancing with high energy, head bobbing music! It is hard to sit still with songs like the “Socky Walk” that teaches a dance with socked feet and “The Moving Song.” Classically trained cellist and mother of two, Miss Gail found a way of bring two loves together through the Jumpin’ Jam Band. Miss Gail puts a funky twist on some well know childhood favorites: “Silli Simon“ is a fun, get up and move Simon Says song, while “Up Come the Spiders” is cool and melodic version of “Itsy Bitsy Spider.” Her Music Together roots are evident in songs such as “Shake Those Eggs” that encourages kids to join along and make some music of their own. www.missgailmusic.com

Winner of the Parent’s Choice Silver Honor Award, Harris has performed on stages from Broadway to Nashville. Residents of Richmond, VA have plenty of opportunities to catch this mother of two boys on local stages throughout the year. Hope Harris’ simple songs on her second CD make you want to sing along and tap your toes. They entertain and educate with fun: “Hang On Friend” is all about taking turns waiting in line and “I Can Do It” about trying again and again until you get it right. On this sixth CD, the title song, “Flying“ gets kids jumping off coaches with capes of the closest fabric becoming their favorite super hero while “Flying Reprise” is calm and sweet and the perfect right-before-bed tune that will be sure to put wonderful, adventurous dreams into your child’s sleep. The simple lyrics of “I’m Your Favorite Book,” had me singing along from the first listen. Bravest Kid in the World” talks about courage against typical childhood woes. Monkey Monkey is a children’s music education program for preschoolers developed by Meredith LeVande. Despite this New Yorker’s many degrees including Women’s Studies, a law degree, and master’s degree in music, her music is accessible and simple so that little ones can easily have fun and learn from each song. LeVande focuses her music on listening skills and interactive participation.
