Top 10 Local Playgrounds

The Lehigh Valley is home to many fabulous parks and playgrounds. Here are our top 10 picks, in no particular order, for the area in and around Allentown. 1. Cedar Beach

2600 Parkway Blvd. Allentown, PA 18104

Cedar Beach features a giant playground (1,900 square feet!) that offers unique activities for kids including a rock climbing wall, a rope spider web and electronic puzzles. It’s also the largest handicap-accessible playground in the region.



2. Earl Adams Memorial Park

8935 Breinigsville Rd. Breinigsville, PA 18031

 

This large playground area is themed with ships and forts and best suited for elementary age and younger. There is plenty of play space, as well as two large pavilions, for hours of fun!



3. Kutztown Park

440 E. Main St.  Kutztown, PA 19530

Kutztown features a shaded park with brand new, state-of-the-art playground equipment (installed during the summer of 2015) and a large covered sandbox. 



4. The Bob Rodale Cycling and Fitness Park

1151 Mosser Rd.  Trexlertown, PA 18031

This beautiful park features a variety of nature trails and is the perfect place for a bike ride with the kids. There is also a large sandbox and a picnic area.



5. Emmaus Community Park

1401 Shimerville Rd.  Emmaus, PA 18049

The playground is located within the Emmaus Community Park, and is a well-kept, larger facility. Located right next to the community pool and arts pavilion, there is something for everyone in the family.


6. Grange Park

360 Grange Rd.  Allentown, PA 18104

This modern and cheerful playground is perfect for creative play. In addition to the playground, families can enjoy walking trails and adjacent sports fields. Future development plans include a splash park, tennis and basketball courts!

 

7. Bucky Boyle Park

17 Pump Pl. Allentown, PA 18102

There are three different play areas at Bucky Boyle Park, but it’s most popular for the spray park with water play. Perfect for a hot, summer day! 



8. Quarry Park

3400 Brookside Rd., Macungie 18062

This park has two playground areas to accommodate different developmental levels, plenty of swings and a large pavilion. Bring a ball to play in the adjacent sports fields!



9. Lone Lane

30 Lone Lane, Allentown PA

 

This playground not only offers a great play area, but a large open grassy area for free play as well!



10. Macungie Memorial Park

50 S Poplar St, Macungie, PA 18062

The playground located within the Macungie Memorial Park offers different areas for different ages and abilities. There are specialslides for toddlers and twisty slides for the bigger kids!
