Outside of video games, there are very few toys these days that get my kids (ages 7 and 9) excited for any length of time. Or, at least that was the case, until last week when we received a shipment of SuperThings to check out.
What are SuperThings? They are miniature superhero and supervillain figures that come in blind bags and fit on the top of a pencil. Anything can be a SuperThing, from appliances to food to random stuff you'd find around the house.
These fun figures are already one of the most popular toys in Spain and the UK (known there as SuperZings) and are making their way into the US this month. (For now, they are available on Amazon here.)
On the day our shipment arrived, I took advantage of the opportunity to be a "fun mom" (because let's be real, the older the kids get, the harder it is to earn that title) and gave them a box of blind bags and let them dig in. It didn't take long for them to get hooked! You can watch their unboxing video below (yes, in our house "fun moms" also let their kids pretend to be YouTube stars!)
One week later, and it's all my kids talk about. They know everything about every one of the 80+ SuperThings available in Series 1. They have handed them out to all of their friends and their classmates. They take one to school each day to keep on top of their pencil. And they hope that Santa brings them more for Christmas.
And I'm okay with it, because SuperThings don't require batteries, tablets or remotes. The only thing my boys need is their imagination. And to me, that's just super.
I received complimentary SuperThings and compensation for the purpose of this review. However, all opinions are my own.
