January 8, 2021

When you're parenting little ones, some days you just need to get out of the house and go on an adventure.

Here are five fun and free things to do with toddlers and preschoolers in and around Allentown.

1. Feed the Fish

Visit the fish at the Li'l-Le-Hi Trout Nursery, the oldest, continuously operating trout nursery in the nation. Bags of fish food are available from vending machines.

2. Take a Hike

There are plenty of kid-friendly hiking trails in the Lehigh Valley. Check out our list here.

3. Meet the Cows

Klein Dairy Farm in Easton is a working dairy farm and creamery, and there's no cost to visit the cows or climb around in the play areas. (Bring extra money for the fresh ice cream!)

4. Explore Cabela's

To little kids, Cabela's is basically a theme park! There's an aquarium to explore and exhibits with "stuffed" animals. You can easily spend an hour or two here with the kiddos.

5. Climb Around

Our local area is home to plenty of playgrounds, perfect for a sunny day -- even when the weather is cold! Check out our list here.
