Now that summer's here, I've decided that the weekend begins on Thursday! Here is Macaroni Kid Allentown - Kutztown's picks for the five things to do in the Lehigh Valley with kids between June 10-13. Click on the links for all the details!

1. Head to Nearby Bethlehem for the FREE Event, Concerts in the Courtyard

The Sun Inn courtyard is one of my family's favorite places in Bethlehem. This Thursday, you can head out for a FREE concert beginning at 5:30. There will also be food available at the Apollo Inn Courtyard Tent and drinks available at the Sun Inn Biergarten. (Thursday, June 10th)

2. Attend a FREE Outdoor Concert at Covered Bridge Park in Allentown (https://www.southwhitehall.com/departments/parks-and-recreaction/events/concerts-in-the-park)

This week, The Large Flowerheads will be playing covers of tunes from the 1960's. In addition, Take-a-Taco, Vince's Cheesesteaks, and Mon and Mel's Sweet Scoops will be on site with delicious food to enjoy. Tacos are my love language, so this event is right up my alley! This is a free event and begins at 7:00. (Friday, June 11th)

3. Attend a FREE Outdoor Movie at Pocket Park in Allentown (https://www.facebook.com/events/498519614892163)

This week, the movie is Grease and will begin at 9:00. Introduce your kids to a classic in a fun location! Don't forget to throw a few lawn chairs and a blanket in the car for a comfortable place to sit. (Friday, June 11th)

4. Check Out Da Vinci Science Center's Newest Exhibit, Expedition: Dinosaur, Rise of the Mammals

I'm feeling optimistic, but chances are there will be at least some rain this weekend. Luckily, Da Vinci is opening it's newest exhibit! Tickets are $14.95 or FREE for members. You will need to reserve an entry time due to Da Vinci's COVID safety precautions. My kids have been begging me to take them to this exhibit and they are so excited to finally go. I'll report back soon with our experience! (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 11-13)

5. Head to The Market in Downtown Allentown for Delicious Food and Ice Cream (https://www.downtownallentownmarket.com)

Here's another option to get you out of the house, even if the weather takes a turn for the worse. Visiting The Market in downtown Allentown has been on my family's list of things to do for quite a while now. There are several merchants to choose from for lunch or dinner, and you can finish the night off with some delicious ice cream from Batch Microcreamery. (https://batchmicrocreamery.hrpos.heartland.us/menu). (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, June 10-12)
