1. Take Part in a Community Hike at Jordan Creek Greenway Trail
Start your weekend early, this Thursday, by joining in on a community hike held at Jordan Creek Greenway Trail. The hike will be lead by Wildlands Conservancy. Learn all about the plants and animals along your hike, while enjoying some exercise! This event is FREE, but does require preregistration. Follow the link above for more information and to register.(Thursday, July 15th)
2. Head out to Lockridge Park for a FREE Concert (http://www.lowermac.com/docs/programs/FREE_SUMMER_CONCERTS_2021.pdf)
Lockridge park is one of the most scenic parks in our area, and they are hosting a FREE concert series. This week you can jam along to Island/Jimmy Buffet-inspired music from the band, Island Time. Grab the kids, some lawn chairs, and a bunch of snacks and enjoy the evening! (Friday, July 16th)
3. Go See a FREE Outdoor Movie at one of TWO Allentown-Area Locations (https://www.uppermac.org/umt-recreation/eventsprograms/movies-in-the-park/) (https://allentownpa.myrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=29863)
What's better than a FREE outdoor movie? What about two FREE outdoor movies? This Friday, you have your choice of movie and venue. Lone Lane Park in Upper Macungie will be showing The Princess Bride, and East Side Memorial Little League will be showing Raya and the Last Dragon. So pick a movie, pack up the kids, and head out for a fun night! (Friday, July 16th)
4. Visit Burnside Plantation's Blueberry Festival & Market To Go in Neighboring Bethlehem (https://historicbethlehem.org/blueberry-festival/)
This weekend, Burnside Plantation will be hosting their annual Blueberry Festival. Some events include: music from local musicians, pony rides, a petting zoo, a dog parade, historic barn tours, and of course blueberries! My family has visited this event before, and it's a fun way to spend a few hours. Click on the link above for hours and to purchase tickets in advance. (July 17-18)
