Macaroni Kid Allentown's Guide to Fall Festivals

This fall, head out into The Lehigh Valley for some family fun!

September 15, 2021

Fall is my favorite season! I spend the months of September and October dragging lovingly parading my family from fall festival to pumpkin patch to winery to farm to celebrate the season. The Lehigh Valley is filled with many ways to get your fall fix. Here is an extensive list of many of the events coming up in the next two months.

Apple Days, Burnside Plantation

Bethlehem, PA (https://historicbethlehem.org/events/apple-days/)

This year marks the 8th annual Apple Days festival on Burnside Plantation in nearby Bethlehem. It may not quite be time for pumpkins, but I like to think of September as the month for apples! Enjoy apple treats, live music, craft vendors and more at this fun outdoor festival! (September 18th &19th)

Grim's Fall Festival

Breinigsville, PA (https://grimsorchard.com/fall-attractions/)

This has to be the biggest fall festival in The Lehigh Valley, and one of my family's favorite spots of the season. This place has literally everything: pumpkins, apples, baked goods, an outdoor play area, a corn maze, farm animals, and more! You could spend hours at Grim's wearing out your kiddos and loading up on fall goodies. (Weekends, September 11th - October 31st)

Fall Pumpkin Picking at Hausman's Fruit Farm

Coopersburg, PA (https://hausmanfruitfarm.com)

This adorable farm is right around the corner from my family, and we absolutely love it! It is not as built-up as some of the other farms in our area, and has a great small-town feel to it. Although the farm is small, there is still so much to do! Pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze, and more! (Weekends, September 25th - October 31st)

Jack-O-Latnern Lane, DaVinci Science Center

Allentown, PA (https://www.davincisciencecenter.org)

If the weather doesn't allow for a day out on the farm, don't worry! DaVinci Science Center's Jack-O-Lantern Lane is the answer! Check out carved pumpkins, Halloween-inspired science experiments, a color-changing circuit house, and more! FREE to members of DaVinci Science Center. (September 25th - November 7th)

Harvest Fest

Downtown Bethlehem, PA (https://getdowntownbethlehem.com/harvest-fest/)

I love Main Street in Bethlehem! It's straight out of a Hallmark movie. There are adorable shops, amazing restaurants, and Harvest Fest is a great time to visit. There will be beer and wine tasting, a soup trail (I don't know what that means but it sounds AMAZING), live music, and more! (October 2nd)

Fall on the Farm, Rodale Institute

Kutztown, PA (https://rodaleinstitute.org/visit/fall-on-the-farm/)

This festival is another of my family's favorites! This event stands out beyond some others due to its commitment to clean, organic food. There are yummy options to meet many dietary restrictions in addition to live music, hayrides, and activities for kids! (October 2nd)

Fest O'Fall

Catasaqua, PA (https://pages.facebook.com/events/366074408351098)

Visit Front Street in nearby Catasaqua for this day of fall fun. The event promises scarecrow building, an obstacle course, hayrides, and adult beverages! (October 2nd)

Octoberfest, Steel Stacks

Bethlehem, PA (https://www.steelstacks.org/festivals/oktoberfest/)

Every year my husband and I ask why this isn't one of the biggest festivals of The Lehigh Valley. It's honestly SO. MUCH. FUN. There's a Weiner dog race and parade, which is already amazing enough to stand on its own. There are also tents of German-style music, vendors, games, and more! We like to take the kids during the day and get a babysitter at night to head back! (October 1st - 3rd, 8th - 10th)

Ottertoberfest, Lehigh Valley Zoo

Schecksville, PA (https://www.lvzoo.org/event/ottertoberfest/)

German-style music, food, beer, vendors, and animals! Sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday! (October 9th)

Fall Fest, Covered Bridge Park

Allentown, PA (https://www.facebook.com/events/covered-bridge-park/south-whitehall-township-western-lehigh-chambers-fall-fest/1483821165291189/)

This year, Covered Bridge Park will be hosting their first ever Fall Festival. The event will include live music, vendors, and room for your kiddos to run and play (October 9th)

Boo at the Zoo, Lehigh Valley Zoo

Schecksville, PA (https://www.lvzoo.org/event/boo-at-the-zoo/)

This year, The Lehigh Valley Zoo has extended Boo at the Zoo to cover three weekends! Kids can wear their costumes and go trick-or-treating around the zoo. There is also music, dancing, pumpkins, and more! (October 16th, 17th, 23rd, 24th, 30th, 31st)

Country Jam Music and Fall Festival, Bear Creek

Macungie, PA (https://www.bcmountainresort.com/play/events/?c=1&m=20211001&id=204&v=month)

Bear Creek knows how to throw a festival! The atmosphere is always amazing, and it's the perfect day to spend time with your family. Enjoy the fall foliage, good food, music, and drink at Bear Creek. (October 17th)
