In honor of the holiday season, Macaroni Kid Allentown is bringing back a weekly article with 5 things to do each weekend in the surrounding area! This will replace the monthly bucket list article, because there is just TOO MUCH to limit it to 5 things for the whole month!

Hausman's Fruit Farm is one of my family's favorite places in The Lehigh Valley. This year, the farm is hosting their second annual country Christmas celebration. The event features hayrides, s'mores over a campfire, pictures with Santa, movies projected onto the barn, and more! This is #1 on our weekend plans! (Friday-Sunday, December 3rd-5th)
2. Take the Kids to a FREE Candy Cane Hunt (https://kutztown-to-allentown.macaronikid.com/events/61896ff2e84b5b504a5dc22f/candy-cane-hunt)
South Whitehall will be hosting their first ever Candy Cane Hunt this year! Thousands of candy canes will be hidden all over Covered Bridge Park for children 12 and under to find. Some of the special candy canes will even be redeemable for a special prize! Mrs. Claus, Olaf, and The Grinch will all be making an appearance at the event as well! Stay after the event for the tree lighting! (Saturday, December 4th)

This year, Creative Learning Labs in Allentown will be having their first ever Gingerbread House Contest. Kids can spend the morning decorating a gingerbread house. Then, pictures of the completed houses will be posted online for friends and families to vote on. The top three gingerbread houses will win a special prize! Kids over the age of 5 can be dropped off for this event so that parents can Christmas shop and prepare for the season! (Saturday, December 4th)
4. Get Festive at Downtown Allentown's FREE Tree Lighting Event (https://kutztown-to-allentown.macaronikid.com/events/6192af77e3a3f4798e56552a/downtown-allentown-tree-lighting-celebration)
Come see the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Allentown Arts Park and enjoy carriage rides, crafts, hot chocolate and cookies, music, and more! (Saturday, December 4th)
5. Celebrate the end of Hanukkah at the JCC (https://kutztown-to-allentown.macaronikid.com/events/61929f5959be9c78a37f936e/celebrate-hanukkah-with-jcc)
Celebrate Hannukkah with the Jewish Community Center of The Lehigh Valley. (Sunday, December 5th)
