I was 32 and pregnant when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. I spent the next several years attempting to balance motherhood with caring for my father and making sure that everyone's needs were met. I never wanted my father to feel lonely, and it was important for me that he have companionship.
More and more, parents of young children are finding themselves in this situation, and Papa has filled a much needed void. Now that my kids are older, I am happy I have availability to help other families keep their loved ones company and can do so through Papa.

As soon as I heard about this amazing opportunity to be a Papa Pal companion caregiver, I knew that this was something I wanted to do. I am always looking for ways to earn extra money to contribute to my family's budget, but it is hard to find a job that is flexible enough to work around my kids' busy schedules. In addition, it is important to feel fulfilled in my time away from my family. I can't think of anything more fulfilling than assisting others.
Being a Papa Pal is a part time, flexible job that is perfect for any parent looking to make some extra money. The hourly pay rate varies between $15 and $25 an hour and you can get visit bonuses and other incentives to boost your earnings.
The application process was easy! Simply visit the Papa website and create a profile. This entails providing your location, car insurance information (if you plan to take jobs that require transportation), submitting to a background check, and entering your bank information (so that you can get paid!). This entire process took less than two weeks, and I was ready to begin!
The next step is to start booking visits. One of the many reasons why this is a great job for parents is the flexibility. You choose the distance that you are able to travel and the times that you are able to work. There are no minimum amount of hours to work and most of the opportunities take place during the day, while the kiddos are at school! Perfect for any busy parent!
I booked my first visit by searching my area and quickly found a request only four miles from my house. The time is perfect, while my kids are at school. I will be assisting with some light housekeeping and providing companionship. I cannot wait to meet my new Papa and report back!
