Don't miss Repertory Dance Theatre’s beloved Nutcracker Saturday, December 7th and Sunday, December 8th at 2pm, at the majestic Miller Symphony Hall. With live music by the award-winning, Allentown Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Ronald Demkee, and singing by the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts Choir, this is truly the Nutcracker to see.
RDT's professional guest artists include the exquisite Evelyn Kocak, and the captivating Michael Breeden. Ms. Kocak has danced professionally with the New York City Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet (soloist), Staatsballet Berlin and Suzanne Farrell Ballet. Mr. Breeden has danced professionally with the Miami City Ballet and Tom Gold Dance. Other guest artists include RDT alumni Felicia Victoria Sharpe of DanceSpora, RDT alumni Samantha Gabrielle Fruhwirth, former trainee with American Repertory Ballet, and Jeffrey Salce of Urban Ballet in New York. RDT’s pre-professional dancers along with children and adults from the community round out the cast. With choreography by award-winning Artistic Directors, Trinette Singleton and Jennifer Haltzman Tracy, beautiful costumes, an enhanced, magical, growing tree, sword fights and snow swirling around the dancers, this is truly a holiday treat. Allow RDT’s Nutcracker to carry you and yours away with Clara and the Sugar Plum Fairy to the Land of the Sweets to be mesmerized by more magical dancing. Kids and adults alike may enjoy the feast of sweets and a chance to mingle with the Sugar Plum Fairy and her friends at the Land of The Sweets Party after the Saturday Matinee (KIDS FREE WITH ADULT TICKET adults $8 *) Nutcracker characters will be signing autograph books, posing for pictures, and helping the kids with crafts. There will even be a surprise visit from Santa Clause.
