Every Wednesday, Macaroni Kid Allentown - Kutztown shares five things to do with your kids in the Lehigh Valley over the coming week. The warm weather is FINALLY here and there are so many things to do. The real question is, which of these amazing events to choose?
Here is Macaroni Kid Allentown - Kutztown's picks for the five things to do in the Lehigh Valley with kids between August 5-9. Click on the links for all the details!
1. Visit Neighboring Bethlehem for Musikfest (https://www.musikfest.org)
I am not originally from The Lehigh Valley and when I first moved here after college it was the week of Musikfest. I couldn't believe how the town transformed for this week-long festival! I've attended every year since and now that I'm a parent, I love taking my kids every year! There's truly something for everyone. Music of every genre, food trucks, games, rides, and more! (Begins August 5th)
2. Join the Doggy Creek Hike at Covered Bridge Park (https://www.wildlandspa.org/event/doggy-creek-hike/?fbclid=IwAR3XmM1L7HWOgP1ZH91srsssD9hyviMstBdIQwTJYh70OHHgcMiPJRMXdpw)
The furriest members of your family deserve a night out this weekend too! Join The Wildlands Conservancy at Covered Bridge Park this Thursday evening for a walk in the park complete with a dip in Jordan creek! Dogs must be well behaved and comfortable around others. This is a FREE event, but does require registration. Follow the link above for more information. (Thursday, August 5th)
3. See a FREE Concert at Triangle Park in Emmaus (https://m.facebook.com/pg/EmmausENT/events/)
My family loves downtown Emmaus! The town triangle, restaurants, shops, and farmer's market are all adorable! It's the perfect venue for an outdoor summer concert this summer. This Friday, The SwingTime Dolls will be playing during Tunes in the Triangle, one of Emmaus's summer concert series. (Friday, August 6th)
4. Create Beach-Inspired Artwork at Covered Bridge Park (https://www.facebook.com/events/789090465359262)
This Sunday afternoon, you can head to Covered Bridge Park in Allentown to create beautiful resin art. This would be the cutest day-date with a teen or preteen. It also supports a local small business. This event does require preregistration and a fee. Please follow the link above for more information (Sunday, August 9th)
5. Visit a Local Farmer's Market (https://kutztown-to-allentown.macaronikid.com/articles/607356bea369a5622d0957d0/five-great-farmers-markets-in-the-lehigh-valley)
I LOVE farmer's markets! I enjoy walking around the different stalls and talking to local vendors while supporting small businesses and loading up on yummy produce. This past spring I wrote about my family's favorite spots in the Lehigh Valley, and many of them are now open every weekend! Better yet, many also have entertainment for your little ones while you shop. So grab the kids, buy some veggies for the grill, and make a day of it! (Dates vary)
